We're outta Here!

LOVED GREECE but it is time to move on.  We left Corfu about 9:30am, Tuesday, July 5th and arrived in Cavtat, Croatia at 1:30pm on Wednesday, July 6th.  Not much to report as most of the sea state was pretty flat.  We ran into a couple of T-Storms/Squalls that gave us something to worry about.  Lightening was very prevelant along with the Thunder and a few gusts of wind at 40 knots.  They didn't last long...just long enough for us to put the spare electronics into the microwave (where they are safe...supposedly) and that's about it.  A few dolphins joined in for a ride at the bow...always the bright spot of my day!
In Croatia, you cannot go to just any harbor to check in, you must check in at the FIRST harbor depending on where you came from.  Because we came directly from Corfu, we had to check in in Cavtat (if we had sailed from Italy, we could have gone straight to Dubrovnik).  We med-moored, found the harbor police, the Port Authority, paid our 2910 Kuna's (approximately $600) for our 3-month sailing permit and had to move the boat from the Customs Dock right away so we headed around the corner and are now anchored in a very nice area.  John has gone back to sleep and I am enjoying the free internet as long as I can.  Cavtat is a beautiful town.  It is very colorful with all the red-tiled roofs.  A photo of Cavtat:

Don't forget to take the spares out of the microwave before you make the popcorn....

It will ruin the popcorn.
