Freeport, Maine

We arrived in South Freeport Maine on Friday after a 3 hour sail from Five Islands along the Sheepscott River. As we were motoring our way up Broad Sound, we were surrounded by hundreds of lobster traps. We flagged down one of the many lobster boats tending thier traps and bought 4 nice big lobsters for $20. It was really cool, we put the $20 in our telescoping fishing net, reached over to the lobster boat, made the exchange, and pulled in our dinner...really cool!!

We made it to South Freeport and tied up at the Brewer docks. This is a nice arrangement for us because we get 6 free nights at other Brewer yards around New England. At dock we can hook up to 50 amp power, lots of water, and free WiFi.

Off to the LL Bean store in Freeport via the Brewer courtesy van. The LL Bean store is now many buildings, and there is a large number of other outlet stores that have sprung up around the LL bean location. This is a shopping mecca. We filled my Dad's order for more LL Bean sweaters: 100% lambs wool, crew neck, got 2 at the discount outlet and 3 more at the retail store. We also picked up some high tech base layer clothing ( used to be called : long underwear) at the North Face and Patagonia outlet stores.
We will take advantage of the dockage and give the the boat a good wash down and cleaning, then we are off to Portland for a couple of days.
